Cameron McKenzie | Docker | GitHub | AWS | Java February 25, 2024 It's actually the –move switch of the branch command. The uppercase -M switch issues the move command with force, which may be necessary if the Git branch to rename already exists. That’s because the actual command is move, not rename. You’ll notice the switch used to rename a Git branch is -m or -M. If you are renaming the current branch, the oldbranch property defaults to the name of the current branch. The formal syntax of the git branch rename command is as follows: git branch ( -m | -M) c/git/gitub (bogfix) $ git branch -a * bugfix main c/git/gitub (bogfix) $ git branch -m bugfixĪ quick request to show all branches confirms that the command to change the Git branch name succeeded, and renamed the bogfix branch to bugfix. To rename the Git branch bogfix to bugfix, I simply use the -m switch with the git branch command and provide a new branch name. In my local environment, I have a branch named b o gfix which I need to rename to b u gfix: /c/git/gitub (bogfix) $ git branch -a * bogfix main Delete the branch with the old name from your remote repo.Push the new branch to your remote repository. While on the Git branch to rename, issue the git branch -m new-branch-name command. The steps to rename a git branch name are as follows: There isn’t an actual git rename branch command, but the –move switch of the git branch command achieves the required results. Just in case, if the logs show that the stash operation failed (by discarding uncommitted changes), it might still be possible to recover the changes. There’s really no magic when it comes to renaming a Git branch locally and remotely.Logs under Help menu of GitHub Destkop App might provide more info on what happened behind the scenes. If the stash is available, then you could either pop or apply them depending on whether you want to remove the stash or preserve it for further use. If the uncommitted changes are not found using this, then you can switch to git CLI as suggested here and try listing the stashes ( make sure you are on the branch you want the uncommitted changes) by using the command git stash list. The issue of GitHub Desktop discarding the commits during the switching operation has been previously reported here for v2.2.2. Turns out that both options (highlighted above) internally perform stash operations for the respective branches. Stash your changes on the current branch, or bring the changes to your You can commit your changes on the current branch, You'll need to decide what to do with your changes before you can Quoting this from the GitHub Desktop help page, I'm not even sure which HEAD index to use to try to get my changes back how do I figure that out? Or is there another way to recover the changes? I went to the command line and entered "git reflog" and get the following: e328567 (HEAD -> master, origin/master, origin/HEAD, origin/branchNumberOne, branchNumberOne) checkout: moving from branchNumberOne to masterĮ328567 (HEAD -> master, origin/master, origin/HEAD, origin/branchNumberOne, branchNumberOne) checkout: moving from master to branchNumberOneĮ328567 (HEAD -> master, origin/master, origin/HEAD, origin/branchNumberOne, branchNumberOne) reset: moving to HEADĮ328567 (HEAD -> master, origin/master, origin/HEAD, origin/branchNumberOne, branchNumberOne) clone: from Now I can't find my changes in either branch. Before I had added them to staging, I listed the available branches and picked the one I wanted it asked me what I wanted to do with the current changes, and I chose an option that said I wanted to "bring them with me". When I had finished what I wanted to commit, I went to GitHub Desktop v2.2.3 and noticed that I was in master. I have hours of work that I did in that branch. I was working in the master branch and didn't realize it.

Hopefully, this guide helps you survive in the harsh world of Conan Exiles. Once done, you can then use the Thick Leather to craft various materials that can be later crafted into Armor or weapons. Once made, all you need to do is place the materials inside the Tannery and craft Thick Leather via the recipe option. After unlocking the feat, you can then make the Tannery with the following materials listed below. If you don’t have a Tannery in Conan Exiles yet, you unlock it via the level 10 Tanner feat. Once you have a substantial amount, you’ll have to put the leather in a Tannery for it to become Thick Leather. In this guide, I’ll show you how and where to get Thick Leather in the latest Conan game, Conan Exiles. It requires a lot of work and hunting which can be confusing for some players. In Conan Exiles, getting the next armor tier involves you getting a resource called Thick Leather, but the stuff isn’t exactly growing on trees. Once in position the plug is crimped in position with a specialist crimping tool. This offers superior screening performance over a screw on F plug which only terminates outside the cable sheath. A crimp on F plug has an internal ring inside on it which is pushed in position in between the PVC jacket and cable ground shield/ braid. One big advantage to using screw type F plugs is that they are relatively inexpensive and can be re-used.Ĭrimp on F connectors are the next step up from screw on plugs. When using screw on F plugs outside it is recommend that you weatherproof your connections with amalgamating tape or silicone grease is perfect for connections to satellite LNB’s. Screw on F connections are suitable for domestic TV aerial/satellite systems but should not be used on communal TV systems where you should use crimp on F connectors or compression plugs instead. If terminated correctly the F plug should remain in position with a relatively firm pull. It’s important to pick the right F plug for the cable you’re using as to pick the wrong one could cause a loose connection and an F plug that falls loose easily. The F plug simply screws on top of the coaxial cable braid and PVC jacket. There are many types for F plugs for different size coaxial cables and plugs that terminate differently like screw on F plugs, crimp on and compression plugs but in essence they are very similar.Ī screw on F connector is the most common and easiest to terminate of all the F plug types and can be prepared with a Stanley blade and scissors or a specialist cable termination tool. F plugs are also now very common for TV aerial and communal TV systems for connections at aerials, splitters, amplifiers and for joining coax cable. The F plug has a threaded connection that allows the plug to be screwed in securely and not fall out of position which can be common with over types of coax plugs. The F plug came from the USA and is most commonly used for satellite dish connections at both the satellite LNB and the satellite receiver itself. There are many different types of tv/ sat plugs and in this blog I describe the most common together with their uses. It’s important that you purchase and install the correct coax plugs for the task. Today, we're going to talk about creating a matrix in a loop. It also allows to be rectangular and solves the least squares problem if there are more rows than columns and the underdetermined system if there are more columns than rows.Hello, and welcome back to another MATLAB video. Backslash checks whether the matrix is triangular (or a permutation of a triangular matrix), upper Hessenberg, symmetric, or symmetric positive definite, and applies an appropriate method. A notable example of such a meta-algorithm is the MATLAB backslash function x = A\b for solving. Ideally, linear algebra software would detect structure in a matrix and call an algorithm that exploits that structure. Using this property one can solve in operations, rather than the operations required if the circulant structure is ignored. A second example is a circulant matrixĬirculant matrices have the important property that they are diagonalized by a unitary matrix called the discrete Fourier transform matrix. Much work has been done on developing numerical methods for solving that exploit the block structure and possible sparsity in and. Matrices from saddle point problems are symmetric indefinite and of the form Here are two examples of structures that can be exploited. Sparsity (a matrix having a large number of zeros) is particularly important to exploit, since algorithms intended for dense matrices may be impractical for sparse matrices because of extensive fill-in (zeros becoming nonzero). One of the fundamental tenets of numerical linear algebra is that one should try to exploit any matrix structure that might be present. This sin takes the top spot in Schmelzer and Hauser’s Seven Sins in Portfolio Optimization, because in portfolio optimization a negative eigenvalue in the covariance matrix can identify a portfolio with negative variance, promising an arbitrarily large investment with no risk! In the case of failure, the partially computed factor is returned in the first argument, and it can be used to compute a direction of negative curvature (as needed in optimization), for example. The MATLAB function chol returns an error message if the factorization fails, and a second output argument can be requested, which is set to the number of the stage on which the factorization failed, or to zero if the factorization succeeded. The best way to check definiteness is to compute a Cholesky factorization, which is often needed anyway. Missing or inconsistent data in forming a covariance matrix or a correlation matrix can cause a loss of definiteness, and rounding errors can cause a tiny positive eigenvalue to go negative.īut none of these conditions, or even all taken together, guarantees that the matrix has positive eigenvalues. However, a matrix that is supposed to be positive definite may fail to be so for a variety of reasons. Symmetric positive definite matrices (symmetric matrices with positive eigenvalues) are ubiquitous, not least because they arise in the solution of many minimization problems. Which is singular, and the information in has been lost.Īnother problem with the cross product matrix is that the -norm condition number of is the square of that of, and this leads to numerical instability in algorithms that work with when the condition number is large. Is positive definite but, since, in floating-point arithmetic rounds to and so Where is the unit roundoff of the floating point arithmetic, then What is wrong with the cross-product matrix (also known as the Gram matrix)? It squares the data, which can cause a loss of information in floating-point arithmetic. By contrast, solving the least squares problem via QR factorization is always numerically stable. While fast, this method is numerically unstable when is ill conditioned. It is therefore natural to form the symmetric positive definite matrix and solve the normal equations by Cholesky factorization. The solution to the linear least squares problem, where is a full-rank matrix with, satisfies the normal equations. You should also make sure you have some method to verify a digital signature. Before you decide to use a digital signing method, make sure that the other party will accept it. Conclusionĭocuments can always be signed digitally, but the practice hasn’t quite become as common as it should have by now. Substitute for DoubanjiangĪ regular Chinese hot bean paste or dark miso with chilli make an adequate substitute, if you really, really cannot get the real thing. This dark, textured paste is made from broad beans, chili peppers, salt, and wheat flour. The longer it is left to ferment, the better quality it is considered to be, with the very best (and consequently most expensive) doubanjiang fermented for up to 3 years. This hot bean paste leans more towards the Cantonese style of cooking, and, at a push, can be used as a substitute for doubanjiang, if you can’t get the real thing. Doubanjiang is made from fermented broad bean or soybean paste, with salt and flour, and, in spicy versions, chilli peppers.
